About

Lucy O’Bryan

Lucy O’Bryan founded her company Lucy O’Bryan Photography in 1995. Following a visit to Kosovar refugee camps 1999, Lucy focused her work around humanitarian photojournalism, documenting lives of refugees and other disadvantaged populations in countries such as Haiti, Nepal, Bangladesh, Cameroon and Sudan. She is currently the Communications and Media Outreach Director at Absolute Options LLC, a company she helped found in 2011. Through her work there, she supports people to mobilize effective campaigns for policy change around a broad range of humanitarian assistance, human rights and democratization issues, employing tools such as short documentary films, public speaking, and new social media.

Since 2000, Lucy has personally led an Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign, which brings awareness to the problem of sexual slavery, with the aim of effectively criminalizing this industry. Her extensive knowledge of this subject has made her a widely sought after spokesperson and technical resource on the subject of sex trafficking in America. She most recently was a featured speaker at a series of informational speaking events at “Women Hold Up Half the Sky: Human Trafficking in America”, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA.
